Bert Hawkins was president of the Oregon Cattlemen’s Association, and a member of the board of directors for the American National Cattlemen’s Association (ANCA). He was chairman of the animal health committee for ANCA, and vice-president of the United States Animal Health Association. Bert is a rancher in the Vale–Ontario area. He was a member of the advisory committee to the Squaw Butte Experiment Station, and of the Agricultural Research and Advisory Council. He played a significant role in realizing a School of Veterinary Medicine at Oregon State University.
