Don Kessi was a lifelong farmer and purebred sheep breeder. He was national director of the Cheviot, Romney and Lincoln Associations and successfully competed in shows throughout the U.S. and Canada. He was past president of the Oregon Purebred Sheep Breeders Association and a leader of various county livestock and conservation groups. Don was a strong supporter of sheep youth activities; he was an active leader in 4-H and FFA, a member of local and state Fair Boards, and he donated several sheep breeding projects to deserving youngsters. His son and grandson are following his lead in the purebred sheep business.
