Earl Meier was a nationally known breeder of registered Brown Swiss cattle. As co-owner of Meier Dairy Farms, he managed an outstanding herd of Brown Swiss cattle that had been in the family for more than 40 years. He was an officer of the Brown Swiss Breeders’ Association at the state and national levels. He assumed an active role of leadership in the dairy industry of Oregon, holding office on more than 10 state boards and commissions. He was equally active as a leader in his own community.
