Dora Krueger Memorial Scholarship

PURPOSE

The Dora Krueger Memorial Scholarship Fund was established to provide financial assistance to deserving students who are enrolled at Oregon State University. Scholarship monies shall be used to assist in payments of tuition, fees and other educational-related expenses.

ELIGIBILITY

Recipients shall be selected according to the priority listed by the benefactor. First preference will be given to students enrolled in preveterinary medicine; second preference to students enrolled in Animal Sciences; and third preference to students in Fisheries and Wildlife.

Candidates must be undergraduate students when receiving their scholarship, i.e., they cannot be in professional training. Preveterinary students normally will be considered after completing approximately 30 hours of courses at OSU. Emphasis will be given to candidates who have proven their academic ability in more difficult courses and who have a GPA compatible with being accepted to veterinary school; a GPA of > 3.0 is required. Transfer students are encouraged to apply but must be attending OSU when their application is being considered.

SELECTION

Selection shall be based on: (1) the applicant's ability to make successful progress toward the attainment of a baccalaureate degree and toward preparing one's self for the profession he or she has chosen; (2) the applicant's contribution to campus life; and (3) the applicant's character. Need for financial assistance will be considered, but it is not an essential criterion.
